Power of Rituals | How Can We Create More Meaning in our Lives?

15/10/2025 - From 19h15 to 21h30 - Members Only
Registration mandatory

This interactive workshop explores the human need for connection and meaning. Traditionally institutional religions guided people through important transitions, offering rituals for calendar events, life cycle events, and moments of crisis. As fewer people rely on these traditions today, we are left with the question: How do we mark important events in our lives now? This question is gendered because women have often been the people responsible for the family rituals, such as cooking, decoration, and traditions around death and dying. In this workshop, we explore the broader significance of both religious and secular rituals. We suggest that rituals can ground us, give us more sense of belonging, and help to find purpose and meaning.

In practice, we will:

  • Create more awareness on intentionality about rituals.
  • Discover ideas for creating personal rituals.
  • Make a visual/tangible element, often used in rituals. We will stimulate the creative side of our brain with a hands on exercise – no previous experience is required!
